WHY VETERINARY PHYSIOTHERAPY?
To enhance performance, maintain health, function and mobility whether that be post-surgical, following injury, age-related, illness or just a general maintenance check-up. I am here to utilise an array of techniques and electrotherapies to promote healing, decrease pain and restore function in conjunction with exercise prescription that will all form an integral part of the rehabilitation program.
Services
Manual Therapies
Manual therapies are techniques carried out through the use of hands with the aim to reduce pain, muscle spasms, scar tissue adhesions and increase flexibility and mobility. This includes different types of massage, trigger point release, myofascial release and passive stretches.
Electrotherapies
These are used to enhance what we do with our hands and work well in conjunction with manual therapies. They help with additional pain relief, aid in soft tissue healing, fracture repair, reduce scar tissue, muscle spasms and muscle wastage. Depending on the above depends on the electrotherapy selected.
I currently offer the following electrotherapies:
Red Light Phototherapy
Longwave Ultrasound
Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS)
Heat Therapy
Exercise Prescription
These are programmes tailored to suit an animals induvial needs and requirements. Exercise prescription is used as part of a rehabilitation program to aid in strength, mobility and flexibility with the aim to return an animal back to it range of normal function and enhance performance.
